The Mets finally broke out of their early season slump by collecting 17 hits and scoring early to hold off the feisty Cardinals 14-9. Zachary Foy led the attack with a single, two doubles, a triple and four RBI's. Michael Kelly added four singles and scored three runs. Joel Dodenhoff had three singles, Ricky Montoya had a single and triple and Brandon Peterson helped with two doubles and two runs scored. Brandon also picked up the pitching victory with four strong innings, striking out seven and walking no one.
For the Cards, Daniel Golden had two singles and a double
and scored twice, Joey Fishbaugh had a double and a triple, Alex Cummings had
two singles and two runs, Jack Brown had two singles and two runs, and Russell
Mundy added a triple.
