Mets vs Athletics - May 9, 2007
Mets 6 - Athletics 2

The Mets and the A's engaged in a close pitcher's duel early with the Mets scoring late to win, 6-2. Brandon Peterson of the Mets pitched a 2- hitter and picked up some late run support after the A's starter Nic Bob came out after four innings with an injury. Nic pitched well with seven strikeouts and allowed only one run on a first inning steal of home by Peterson.

The A's came right back and tied it on a run scoring double by Quincy Conn following a walk to Luis Rosas. The A's scored an unearned run in the fourth after three consecutive misplays by the Mets.

The Mets scored three times in the fifth, the big hits on a fence-crashing double to left by Zach Foy and an RBI single by Michael Kelly. In the sixth, the Mets scored twice, on a double by Andrew Robles and a triple by Peterson.

The A's other hit was a single by Douglas Cherry. For the Mets, Grant Ganguet and Christian Destefano also singled for the Mets.
