In a monumental pitching duel between rookie Jose Maravillo of the Rangers and veteran Daniel Golden of the Cardinals, the Cardinals barely prevailed. The Cardinals scored in the 5th on an error, a ground ball out, and a sacrifice fly. In all, Maravillo held the Cardinals to 2 infield hits. Golden also pitched a 2-hitter while striking out 8 Rangers.
