MINUTES FROM BOARD MEETING ON JANUARY 16, 2003
HELD AT CONCORD HIGH SCHOOL, ROOM 210
In attendance: Mark Lloyd, Mary Bishop, Jim Bouquin, Dick Stoddard, Jeff Edmondson, Ken Colombo, Chuck Davidson, Mike Galindo, Kellie Bewley
Bob Morales was voted in to the Board of Directors as our new Safety/Training Officer to replace Greg Lisle.
Jack Mayberry was voted in as our new Chief Umpire, replacing Bob Krasner.
Jim will give us an update on the budget at the next meeting, including revenues from signups. Too early to discuss expenditures.
At 1st tryouts last Saturday, we had 15-20 more kids signup to play in the league.
T-ball playing rules were discussed and no changes will be made; board passed unanimously.
AA rules will remain the same as well, voted and passed by all board members.
AAA rules had some minor changes, will give to all managers at the draft.
Major rules will be discussed at the next meeting.
"Get Up and Go" clinic is scheduled for Sunday, February 9th at the Mt. Diablo fields. We will be charging each manager and coach $5.00 to help defer the cost of the clinic.
The golf Tournament was a very successful fundraiser for the league.
Need dumpster back at Oliviera, Mike will take care of ordering this thru Garaventas.
Spring cleaning for both fields is coming up and Mike will give us the schedule soon.
Permits for all fields have been filled out and turned in by Mike.
There will be a work party at the Oliviera fields this Saturday January 18th starting at 10:00 a.m.
Bob Lee has been officially confirmed as 1 of our Junior Managers but we still need one more manager as there are two teams for this division.
Need to receive from Chris Sheehan the structure of the season by draft night. Since there are only 5 major teams this year we might need to go to 3 game weeks.
Newsletter deadline to get articles to Mary is January 24th.
Mike would like to get some ideas for a locking system at the fields as we spent too much money on keys and locks last season.
Mike needs help with getting some picnic tables as vandals have trashed all the ones we have at Mt. Diablo except one. Any body with any contacts or if anyone has ones they are not using , need to contact Mike ASAP.
All Managers must attend the 1st board meeting of each month like last year. If the manager cannot attend they must have one of their coaches represent the team.
Draft nights are the 29th and the 30th of January at Concord High starting promptly at 6:30 p.m.
Kellie brought up her concerns about the lack of board participation and members missing more than 3 meetings in a row. Also she wanted to get board approval on all softball managers as there had been some miscommunications.
