CONCORD AMERICAN LITTLE LEAGUE
MINUTES FROM BOARD MEETING ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2002
HELD AT CONCORD HIGH SCHOOL, ROOM 210

Those in Attendance: Mark Lloyd (President), Chuck Davidson (V.P. A and T-ball), Chris Sheehan (V.P. Major, AAA, AA), Jeff Edmondson (V.P. Interleague), Jeff Haigh (Player Agent Major, AAA, AA), Mary Bishop (Secretary/Information Officer), Greg Lisle (Safety Officer/Coaching Co-Ordinator), Mike Galindo (Fields/Complex Director), Dawn Haigh (Sponsorship), Bob Morales (Manager Major Division).

Meeting began at 6:50 pm. Their was review and discussion of the Constitution and Bi-Laws and a membership meeting was scheduled for October 17th @ 6:30pm at Concord High for all the general membership to discuss the budget and Constitution changes.

Update on sign-ups is as follows: All will be held at El Dorado Middle School on the following dates:

Saturday November 9th from 10am-2pm

Tuesday December 3rd from 6pm-8pm

Saturday January 4th from 10am-2pm

We will be excepting credit cards again for payment as well as cash and checks.

We will be hosting the District 4 Orientation on Tuesday October 15th at Glenbrook Middle School @7pm. Dinner will be provided by Parma-Deli, one of our sponsors. The meal will include: Pasta, salad, bread and drinks.

We will be hosting a golf tournament with Clayton Valley Little League on Monday November 4th at Oakhurst Country Club in Clayton. This is a fundraiser for both leagues. A flyer will be going out in the newsletter.

Bob Morales attended the meeting to offer a Pre-Tryout clinic that he will be conducting 2 weeks prior to the start of tryouts. He will need volunteers such as coaches and managers from last year from all the teams so please contact him as soon as possible. The schedule will be as follows:

Saturday January 4th 9am-11am for all 7-9 year old players
11:30am-1:30pm for all 10-12 year old players

Saturday January 25th 9am-11am for all 13 year old players

These will be held at the Mt. Diablo Fields.  Greg Lisle will work with Bob on this activity.

Mike Galindo will be checking into the price of a drop safe for the Mt. Diablo Snack Shack so supervisors do not have to carry the money to the bank at night as it is a safety issue.  Their will be new procedures with how the Snack Shack monies will be handled. Jim Bouguin to discuss at next meeting 10/3.

Need to have the wiring checked at the Mt. Diablo complex.

Player fees will be discussed at the 10/3 meeting. There was discussion that the hit-a-thon should be our one and only fundraiser and to make it mandatory.

Need to advertise softball and t-ball more.  Discussion of lowering t-ball fees, tabled until 10/3 meeting.

Major filed is dying, and AAA field has been flooded. Mike Galindo to check into getting these problems taken care of.

Single A scoreboard needs installing.

There was discussion on renaming the T-ball field, tabled until 10/3 meeting.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:05 pm.  Next meeting Thursday October 3rd at 6:30pm, Concord High School room #210.
